ERROR143 opens up the potential for a queer romance experience by letting you choose your pronouns. However, there’s no female alternative to the Micah character. Still, expect him to be as charming, flirty, and ultimately likable regardless of the player’s preference. The character design is also notable, being a young person of color with golden eyes and prominent canine teeth—traits guaranteed to pander to a wide range of audiences.
With the premise and the character established above, you can expect a lot of fanservice. Either in the fashion choices, the supposed webcam reaction and responses, to the choice of words every time you get a reply. The game achieves this level of appeal despite being mostly stuck in a 2D interface with a neon-themed color palette. Also, Micah has a cat, catering to an additional market.
It also doesn’t let up on the hacking aspect of the game, thanks to the computer-themed user interface. To further capture the young adult theme, be warned that the game contains mature themes and language, making it inadvisable for younger players. Also, don’t freak out if the game talks to you on a personal level as it draws certain information from your device to further customize your experience.
